Toothbrush Germs Prevention – Prevents Your Teeth From Germ Invasions

British Dental Health Foundation renews its warning of toothbrush germs prevention against the dangers of sharing your toothbrushes. Sharing toothbrush is certainly not the best way to keep your oral health in control. This ill practice promotes the growth of germs and causes disease like Hepatitis C. This warning comes out of the survey by the Foundation sponsored by Philips sonicare electric toothbrush. The survey shows that 80 per cent of the people who were tested/questioned agreed that they let their partner use their toothbrushes. Some let their parents, brothers, & sisters use it. Over all this is a bad idea and should be stopped in order to prevent infection by germs.

Toothbrush germ prevention is as important as your regular health check up. For a better and effective oral care, toothbrush sharing is certainly not a good habit. A study shows that 30 percent of people tested positive for traces of germs in their saliva before brushing their teeth, whereas 38 percent people tested germs in their saliva after brushing. Nearly 40 percent of the water used for rinsing toothbrushes tested virus positive. Dr. Nigel Carter, CEO British Dental Health Foundation suggests that sharing tooth brushes is highly risky and can spread harmful germs.

Good quality toothbrushes help to keep bacteria and germs away from your mouth. Avoid the hard bristled toothbrushes as they may lead to gum injury. Use soft bristled ones that take care of your oral health. Always keep the head cap of your toothbrush on and save the bristles from bacterial infection. This will prevent diseases caused by these bacteria. It is said that prevention is better than cure, so it is better to start with the toothbrush by keeping it germ free all the time.
