Oral Health Promotions – Healthy Ideas For Healthy Teeth
The British Dental Health Foundation organizes National Smile Week from the 16th to the 22nd of May for oral health promotions. It is an event where media, dentists, teachers, oral health educators and health promoters work together for the promotion of the plans for better oral health. Poor teeth may cause heart disease, lung disease and other health problems. It is important to go for regular oral checkups and follow the orthodontic prescription to avoid problems related to teeth and gums.
British Dental Health Foundation started off the oral health promotion camp with the slogan ‘your teeth are for life’, so that people can have adequate information about oral health. This promotional program of oral disease prevention is focusing the family under the theme ‘The Four Ages of Dental Health’. The weeklong program aims to highlight the different tooth care issues like whiter teeth, brushing, and more.
The topics in the promotion program include the importance of good habits, changing needs, sugar sweets, snacks & drinks, gum disease, and more. The choice of topics gives opportunities to everyone involved in this promotional campaign to work on different ideas and plans to suit their own target groups. Health promotions require good communication skills and the ability to think creatively, because it is a broad science. The aim of oral health awareness is to increase health and quality of life both in the professional and personal sphere.
Oral health promotions are a boon for the people suffering from discomfort, pain and depression due to poor teeth. Dr. Nigel Carter, chief executive of British Dental Health Foundation, exclaimed that National Smile Week is becoming popular every year and aims to organize an improved event in the near future.
