Virtual Mouth Technology – Achieving Accurate Results

The technology that is present at most dentist’s offices consists of oral x-rays and molds of teeth that are used to estimate work that needs to be done on teeth, or a specific tooth, as well as the shape of the area that is going to be affected. Often, a patient will need to wait while the doctor inspects their x-rays again and again before he or she has a plan of action and can move ahead with the work. As with many other parts of the human body, the mouth has its own environment and movements that are individual to each tooth. A dentist and an orthodontist recognized the need for the technologies required to observe every detail of each tooth in the mouth and have designed a new virtual mouth technology.

Virtual mouth technologies may sound strange, but implementing a more exact way of seeing a patient’s teeth and the ability to fine tune the predictable movement of each tooth is quite an advanced tool in dentistry. The new technology is call DentAART, Inc. and is nothing like the traditional tools seen in a dentist’s office. This tool gives an accurate depiction of the oral workings in an individual’s mouth.

The treatment of each tooth in the mouth will be provided with a virtual ‘prescription’ in the near future. Instead of sitting through x-ray after x-ray and producing oral molds in order to get the closest version of what should be used in a mouth, the technology has been created in order to make treatment of any oral problem an accurate process. This technology can also help to eliminate much of the unnecessary drilling and other work with random tools that can cause alarm and discomfort.

In order to affirm the way the DentAART Inc. technology works, the creators enlisted in the help of the personnel at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. Not only has the technology been confirmed, but also Georgia Tech Research Institute is producing a digital interpretation of DentAART to give dentists the tool they need in order to provide their patients with the best in technology and treatment.
