Toothpicks – Wal-Mart Food Locations Sample Unique Plastic Toothpicks

Dental Concepts, www.dentalconcepts.com, announced that Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., has ordered 15 million individually wrapped units of BrushPicks, the World’s Best Toothpicks, to sample throughout its food, restaurant and cafeteria venues.

BrushPicks, which is already sold through Wal-Mart's retail divisions, will replace the wooden toothpicks for the world’s largest retailer's food courts, snack bars and employee cafeterias in more than 1,700 locations.

According to Mike Lesser, Dental Concepts President, Wal-Mart encourages its vendors to be creative in presenting them with cross-merchandising ideas. With an extensive national sampling program, we saw an opportunity to support our mutual business goals. Wal-Mart's restaurants will be able to offer customers an extraordinary oral care device instead of wooden toothpicks.

BrushPicks will receive valuable exposure as a result. Fortunately, for us, the key people at the Food Services Division enthusiastically embraced the idea and implementation has started taking place.

BrushPicks are flexible plastic toothpicks, with special plastic fibers for exceptional plaque and debris removal. A clinical study published in the Journal of Clinical Dentistry validated the efficacy of BrushPicks, by demonstrating that BrushPicks performed better than a leading floss at reducing gingivitis and gum bleeding, and performed equally well as floss at reducing plaque.

The flexible 2-inch BrushPicks can go where no traditional toothpick has ever gone before, and do it without damaging dental work. One end is a narrow 3-sided blade that slips comfortably in the gaps between teeth. Its grooved edging helps dislodge particles, remove plaque and massage gums. The other end is a narrow probe with six side bristles.
